The Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas has graciously offered a matching grant program to help the Carnegie Center for the Arts, but people need promptly act.

Up to March 16, people who want to contribute to help the Carnegie Center for the Arts can make a contribution of up to $1,000 and the Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas will offer a 50 percent match, meaning if someone gave $1,000 and designated it for the Carnegie it would mean in total $1,500 would be available to help a worthy cause.

The foundation’s match is at 50 percent up to $2,000. In total it means the Carnegie could generate $3,000 total.

The Carnegie Center for the Arts is overseen by the Dodge City Area Arts Council.

"Those of us who are on the board are very appreciative of the generosity of the Community Foundation," said Dave Bergmeier, board president. "The foundation has been a long-time supporter of the arts in our community and this matching grant program allows us to keep meeting our mission."

Donors must give have the contribution postmarked no later than March 16.

People may send their contributions to the Dodge City Area Arts Council, 701 N. 2nd Avenue, Dodge City, KS 67801.

They may also send them to the Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas, P.O. Box 1313, Dodge City, KS 67801.

In the memo line it must state "Carnegie."
