The Dodge City Daily Globe is hosting an online auction that starts today and will run through March 29 at 9 p.m.

"The public can go online and bid for the items listed, who ever has the top bid gets the item or service," Daily Globe advertising manager Lloyd Gum said. "There really is no restriction except being 18 years of age, or if the item selling has a 21 year age requirement."

The items that will be up for auction are: a 22-foot 1982 Double L Horse Gooseneck trailer; gift certificates to Claflin Furniture Store; YMCA of Dodge City and Garden City memberships; BioGuard chemical and Spring pool startup from Austin Pools; gift certificate to Lucas Auto Glass; cabana rental, season pass and daily passes to Long Branch Lagoon; green and cart fees to Mariah Hills Golf Course; dance and gymnastic package from Southwest Elite; duct cleaning from Stewart Plumbing and Heating; windows from Superior Home Improvement and a 24-inch camp chef smoker from Country Feeds.

"When the auction closes the bidders are informed whose bid won the item and they come to the local newspaper office and pay for their item," Gum said. "They receive a paid invoice and then they go and present it to the store and get the item or a certificate.

"This is a great way for the advertiser to get marketing dollars with out putting any cash out and it's good for the public for the discounts they receive."
