The Dodge City Police Department won some bragging rights for a good cause this past Saturday.

The DCPD faced off with members of the Dodge City Fire Department in a two-out-of-three softball tournament in Thurow Park and were declared the winners.

The tournament was to raise money to go to the Ford County Suicide Coalition after four teenagers committed suicide in the past few months.

A raffle was also held during the tournament for a Traeger grill that was won by Brad Hines.

According to the DCPD and DCFD, $1,564 was raised from the raffle and food that was sold during the tournament.

According to the organizers of the tournament, there are many issues in life that can lead to a person contemplating suicide.

There is local support in the area with many groups available to help and talk with anyone, you or a loved one may be facing.

Those organizations are the Crisis Center of Dodge City, CASA, Family Care Clinic, Hospice of the Prairie and Prairie Home Health, Compass Behavioral Health, and many others.
