On Thursday, May 24, the Ford County Coalition will be holding the Run/Walk for Someone 5K at the Dodge City Civic Center.

Registration for the walk will be $25 before the day of the race, $30 the day of the race and will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the race beginning at 7 p.m.

All proceeds from the walk will go to the Ford County Suicide Coalition and the fee will include a T-shirt and glow sticks.

For families of three or more, the registration fee is $50 which includes up to four T-shirts.

According to the Coalition, the race will begin at the Civic Center and go West on Soule Street, then south on 6th Avenue; east on Comanche Street; south on 2nd Avenue with the turnaround at Vine Street going back north on 2nd Avenue; east on Comanche Street then  north on 1st Avenue to conclude back at the Civic Center.

According to their mission statement, Southwest Kansas Suicide Prevention Coalition provides awareness, education and emotional support in an effort to prevent death by suicide.
