The Dodge City High School Forensics team placed No. 1 in Duet Acting at the state competition on May 5.

Advanced and Novice teams went to compete at Olathe North High School and State Festival at Wichita East High School.

"We are the No. 1 Duet Act team out of the 6A schools in Kansas," Head Forensics Coach Anne Kaiser said. "Kylee Smith and Dario Lozano worked very hard the second semester of school to win the top award, this is the second year in a row that Dodge City High School has been No. 1 in Acting in the state of Kansas."

According to Kaiser, 15 students traveled to Wichita East and brought home 13 Gold medals out of a possible 17 medals.

Those medalists were: Alexa Martinez, Improvised Duet Acting, Gold Medal; Amy Romero, Improvised Duet Acting, Gold Medal; Amy Romero, Poetry Interp, Gold Medal; Olivia Ramos, Duet Acting, Gold Medal; Olivia Ramos, Solo Serious Act, Gold Medal; Halle Robinson, Duet Acting, Gold Medal; Amber Albert, Improvised Duet Acting, Gold Medal; Brianna Buller, Improvised Duet Acting, Gold Medal; Brianna Buller, Poetry Interp, Gold Medal; Angel Amaro, Prose Interp, Gold Medal; Harley Long, Improvised Duet Acting, Gold Medal; Lindy Fry, Improvised Duet Acting, Gold Medal; Lorenz Looney, Prose Interp, Gold Medal; Dayana Rodriguez, Duet Act, 2 Rating; Jacqueline Worrell, Duet Acting, 2 Rating; Parker Holuska, Duet Act, 2 Rating and Lorenz Looney, Duet Act, 2 Rating.

The DCHS Forensics teams took home six sweepstakes plaques and 109 individual medals this season.

Coaches for the forensics team are Judy Demuth, Assistant; Marcy Taylor, Assistant; Patricia Wolnik, Assistant and Kaiser.
