The reader's have spoken and the USA Today has announced that the No. 1 Best North American Rodeo is the Dodge City Roundup Rodeo.
After nearly a month-long voting process, readers were allowed to vote daily on who they thought the best North American Rodeo was.
The selections of the top rodeos was compiled by the USA Today 10Best editors at 10Best.com.
The editors provide travel coverage for top attractions and locations through out the world.
"We are extremely pleased and proud," Dodge City Roundup Rodeo president Dr. R.C. Trotter said. "The rodeo gets the accolades but really this award is in large part to the community participation.
"The entire community should be proud of itself for this prestiguous honor is because of them and for them."
The top 10 winners in the category Best Rodeo are as follows: 1) Dodge City Roundup Rodeo - Dodge City, Kansas; 2) World’s Oldest Rodeo - Prescott, Arizona; 3) Reno Rodeo - Reno, Nevada; 4) Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo - Fort Worth, Texas; 5) Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo - Houston, Texas; 6) Greeley Stampede - Greeley, Colorado; 7) Williams Lake Stampede - Williams Lake, British Columbia, Canada; 8) National Western Stock Show and Rodeo - Denver, Colorado; 9) Tucson Rodeo – Tucson, Arizona and 10) Cheyenne Frontier Days - Cheyenne, Wyoming.
"The Dodge City Roundup Rodeo celebrates its 42nd installment in 2018 with a packed schedule of horse shows, roping contests and rodeo action," the USA Today said of the contest results. "The event is also home to one of the country’s longest running Little Britches Rodeos geared toward young competitors."
