USD 443 will be holding an open house at several schools that are a part of the bond project construction.

The open house will be held on Sunday, Aug. 12 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the following schools: Beeson Elementary – 1700 W. Beeson Road; Central Elementary – 1100 Central Avenue; Linn Elementary – 1900 W. Linn Street; Miller Elementary – 1100 Avenue G; Northwest Elementary – 2100 6th Avenue; Soule – 401 Soule Street; Sunnyside Elementary – 511 Sunnyside Avenue; Wilroads Gardens – 11558 E. Main Road; Dodge City Middle School – 2000 6th Avenue and Dodge City High School – 2201 Ross Blvd.

According to William Hammond, USD 443 Executive Director of Business and Operations construction began at several of the schools starting in 2016 up to 2018.

The school construction that began in 2016 were

Wilroads Gardens, Linn, Beeson, Miller, DCHS, Sunnyside and Soule. Northwest, Central and DCMS began in 2017 with the District Activity Fields at DCHS starting in 2018.

"Ongoing projects will be DCHS, District Activity Fields and Central Elementary," Hammond said. "The high school will have some landscape retaining wall work, completed in the month of September, and a new paint booth by the end of the year.

"Work will continue on the District Activity Fields through November.

"Central office remodel, and site playground area will be completed in September with landscaping for all of the schools is ongoing and will be completed by next spring."

The tours for each school will be given at the portions of the bond project areas only.

"The open house is our way of saying thank you to the community," Hammond said. "We have great community support and we want to show them what their support has done and give them an opportunity to see it first-hand."
