The Community Housing Association of Dodge City announced it has received a $5,000 grant from Amerigroup Kansas, a leading statewide coordinator of Medicaid services for more than 127,000 Kansans.
These funds will support the Community Home Renovation Program.

"Home renovation ensures families are living in safe and well maintained homes. CHAD is fortunate to have Amerigroup Kansas’ support and is very grateful for the generous donation that will help families and vulnerable individuals achieve a better quality of life."
The Community Home Renovation Program is designed to preserve the affordable housing stock, reduce blighted areas and encourage economic development in Dodge City.
This program provides eligible low-income homeowners with the materials and labor to make critical home renovations such as plumbing, heating, electrical, window replacement and door replacement. The goal of the home renovation program is to encourage and assist residents to upgrade the conditions of their homes.
In June 2017 the Community Home Renovation Program began accepting applications. The program has installed an air conditioner unit, replaced a roof, replaced windows and replaced rotting siding and trim.
The repairs enhance the value and prolong the lifespan of homes while improving the neighborhood.
