Ceramics painting classes for youth and adults begin on Nov. 12 at the Dodge City Family YMCA.

The adult ceramics class is open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 to 7 p.m. until Dec. 19.

Members may choose to attend the class one day a week for $20 per week, or two days a week for $30 per week. Non-members may attend one day per week for $25, or two days for $40.

The come-and-go structure allows attendees to choose the time in the afternoon or evening that best fits their schedules. Class meets at Hennessy Hall, just to the south of the YMCA and is open to ages 11 and older.

Dynamic Ceramics, the youth class, is open to ages eight to 15. It meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. from Nov. 12 through Dec. 19.

Dynamic Ceramics is an instructional class that focuses on glazing, antiquing and dry brush techniques. The cost for members is $30 per session, and for non-members it’s $35 per session. Each participant’s fee includes one ceramic item.

Scholarships are available for those needing financial assistance with program fees.
