Once the heat of the day dies down a little, most everyone who's really in the Dodge City Days spirit heads to a street dance to grab something cold to drink, enjoy some great music and dance the night away.
Two locations in Dodge have extensive street dance schedules this year.
Tonight at Central Station, Reckless Rebellion powers the official after-party for the Q97 country concert.
Next weekend, Central Station has scheduled Hazard County for Friday night and Rio Grande for Saturday night.
The street dances take place in Central Station's parking lot, and there's also a DJ inside for more fun and music.
The Central Station action begins at 9:30 p.m. each evening and continues until 1:30 a.m. Patrons with a Dodge City Days lapel pin will receive discounts on admission.
Over at the Broken Spoke, DJ dances are scheduled to begin around 9:30 p.m. today and Wednesday and Thursday of next week. The DJ will be Cliff Bone.
Tonight is tiki bar night, with special drinks and decorations.
On Friday and Saturday of next week, the Spoke will host Northcut, a country band, inside. Mad Jack, a rock band, will be outside.
Friday is the tight-fitting jeans contest.
Also on Friday, the Spoke will host a teen dance from 9 p.m. to midnight in the convention room, with security provided.
And if that's not enough, the Spoke has karaoke every Wednesday and Friday beginning around 8 p.m.
For more information and updated schedules, call Central Station at (620) 225-1176 and Broken Spoke at (620) 225-8850.
