Organizers of the Old Dodge City 4th of July Fireworks Celebration are collecting donations for this year's event.
The organizing committee, a group of local volunteers, is bringing the band concert and variety show back to Memorial Stadium, Dodge City's public information coordinator, Christa Roy, said in a news release. Gates will open at 7 p.m. July 4, and the Cowboy Band will kick off the evening with a patriotic concert at 7:30. The variety show, showcasing a variety of local talent, will begin at 8:30. Then sit tight for the spectacular fireworks display set to begin at 10 p.m. The display will again be shot off north of Memorial Stadium beginning at 10. The fireworks are set to music simulcast on Q97 radio.
