Dodge City Community College president Dr. Richard Burke had a lot of good things to report to the DCCC board of trustees Monday night. Enrollment is up — way up. The residence halls are filled to capacity, and faculty and staff contracts are signed. The college has a new trustee, and overall accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission, as well as by individual professional standards boards, has gone smoothly.
The college's most recently scrutinized degree is its nursing program, which just got the stamp of approval from the state of Kansas, the National Nursing Board and the U.S. Department of Labor. All three carefully inspected the DCCC program, which passed recertification with flying colors.
