Three men, one gun and an ill-fated encounter.
Those circumstances led to the shooting of Steve Holt and Tanner Brunson in the Arkansas River bed on Sept. 7.
After a day of four-wheeling and drinking beer in the Arkansas River bed, Holt and Brunson were leaving the area when they drove by Samuel Bonilla and two boys. The two boys testified Wednesday that they were afraid that Brunson was going to run over them, but they got out of the way in time.
When Bonilla turned himself in the night of the shooting, he told investigators that Brunson and Holt had gunned their pickup and intentionally driven straight at him. Brunson, however, has denied this.
