Army leaders are meeting in Kansas this week to review proposals to enhance its use of computer gaming for unit and individual training.
The Requirement Control Board conference at Fort Leavenworth is developing a list of new capabilities the Army would like to incorporate into its computer-based training program. The program includes the widely used Virtual BattleSpace 2.
Among candidates for expansion are medical tasks and larger terrain to support the use of unmanned aerial vehicles.
Virtual BattleSpace 2 was built off commercial gaming technologies and allows the Army to train units at the company level and below. Units can simulate training at various locations to hone skills.
