DODGE CITY —

A man and a woman were injured when someone fired shots at them early Saturday morning.
    The male victim was apparently shot in his left leg, while the woman was wounded in her right arm, according to early reports. They were both taken to Western Plains Medical Complex for treatment.
    Neither victim was identified in a news release from the Dodge City Police Department.
    At about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Ford County Communications received several 911 calls reporting gunfire in the 1100 block of 14th Avenue, according to the news release. Law enforcement officers responded to the scene and found the two victims, and they found numerous shell casings from a high-powered rifle when they canvassed the area.
    Several bullet holes were discovered on the residence where the shooting occurred.
    Officers later found a vehicle, which a witness described as being involved in the shooting, abandoned in rural Ford County.
    The police department and the Ford County Sheriff's Office are working together on investigating the shooting, and they are asking anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 228-STOP (7867).

A shooting on Fourth Avenue around midnight Saturday morning injured one man and one woman. According to early reports, the shooting along the 1100 block did not result in any deaths.

However, it appears the man was hit in his leg and the woman in his arm. Multiple shots were fired at the house.

Lt. Traci Rankin said detectives were still gathering information on the incident.

Rankin said the incident was still under investigation and the police department would release more information as it became available.
