Every day, people all over the globe face catastrophes. Whether it be from illness, weather, accident or some other cause, these harmful events change people's lives.
When people around the Dodge City area face these dramatic events, the Three Angels Charity is there to give them a helping hand.
Three Angels is a local charity that raises funds and donates the money to people in their times of need. So far, it has helped nine families with the problems they have faced.
Three Angels is willing to help anyone who needs it. All they need to do is ask.
"Email us or put something in writing. Tell us what your problem is and we can help," said Misty Winger, one of the people who run the Three Angels.
The charity, which provides aid to Ford, Gray and Clark counties, will host its Summer Bash fundraiser Saturday at Central Station. The event starts with a hamburger feed at 11 a.m. There will be a marble roll, beer tasting, silent and live auctions and live musical entertainment.
The event will also have a pub crawl, traveling to different bars throughout town such as HD's and Bad Habit.
The registration fee is $35, and the first 250 people to register will get a koozie.
Fundraisers like these help the charity raise money to provide aid for those who need it.
Winger said Three Angels would like to put on four fundraisers a year.
"We started with the idea of just doing fundraisers," she said. "But we got to the point where we were planning on four fundraisers a year, so we decided to turn it into a charity."
The fundraisers are the main source of income for Three Angels. And the more money the charity receives, the more people it will be able to help.
