DODGE CITY —

Two juvenile males suffered what appeared to be minor injuries during a gang-related altercation Friday and were taken to Western Plains Medical Complex for treatment.
The incident began with a group of at least a dozen juvenile males late Friday afternoon north of the Kwik Shop at 1811 Central Ave., said Police Chief John Ball. When police arrived, part of the group remained on the scene while the others ran across the street.
"That's where we stopped them," Ball said. "And then group B ran a different route, and I guess we did not get any of those because we saw group A running across Central in front of traffic. So we went after them."
Ball declined to identify the gang involved in the incident, citing departmental policy against giving gangs publicity.
He said witnesses did not cooperate with police, and the incident is still under investigation.
Anyone with information about the incident should call the police department  at 225-8135 or CrimeStoppers at 227-STOP (7867).
