The two Siberian tiger cubs recently located to the Wright Park Zoo have been given official names.
At the baby shower held for the tiger cubs on July 17, residents were invited to submit names for the two female cubs.
Shakira was selected as one of the names submitted by Jacob Mann, and Jasmine was submitted by Kayla Ramirez and Anthony Steimel.
“We thought exotic names would be appropriate for the Siberian cubs, and Shakira and Jasmine fit their personalities," zookeeper Tony Hornberger said in a news release.
Approximately 300 people attended the baby shower and provided chew toys for the cubs.
The Wright Park Zoo is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
