Ford County Republican Central Committee to host nominating convention to fill 115th District

    The Ford County Republican Central Committee will host a nominating convention Jan. 7 to fill the 115th District seat in the Kansas House. The seat opened up after former Rep.-elect Garrett Love was tapped to fill former Sen. Tim Huelskamp’s seat in the Kansas Senate.
    Huelskamp is headed to Washington, D.C., where he will replace former Congressman Jerry Moran. Moran is taking the seat formerly held by U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback, who is Kansas’ new governor.
    The nominating convention will begin at 6 p.m. Jan. 7 at the Rose Room in the Ford County Government Center, 100 Gunsmoke St. Republican committee members from the 115th District will nominate candidates and cast ballots to select Love’s successor.
