Angie Rodriguez had received the H1N1 flu vaccine at work, and she wanted to make sure her children had the same protection.
So she took them to Village Square Mall, where Ford County Health Department staffers and volunteers were busy administering free doses of the vaccine on Saturday.
After waiting for 1 1/2 hours, Rodriguez arrived at the front of the line. Then she stood patiently in an area off the mall's main entrance while her children received the vaccine.
After the kids were finished, Rodriguez said she was relieved to know that the vaccine would protect them against H1N1.
"I feel like I'm protected, and now if they get sick, hopefully they won't get that bad," she said.
