ASHLAND —

The Kansas Association of Insurance Agents held its annual marketing and management conference Oct. 8 -10 in Overland Park. Over 250 insurance industry professionals attended the three-day conference that featured numerous educational sessions on timely insurance topics.
At the conference, KAIA member Monica Meininger, owner of Snell-Nelson Insurance Agency in Ashland, was awarded the KIA 1752 Club Agent of Merit Award.
KIA 1752 presents the Agent of Merit Award annually to the agent that the club feels best represents the independent agency system in the state of Kansas. The award recognizes an individual who supports the insurance industry through service to the industry, and it recognizes the independent agent's contributions to his or her community.
Meininger began her insurance career in 1981.  In 1985, she and her father, Lee Snell, founded Snell-Nelson Insurance Agency, where she is still president and CEO. She served on the Young Agent's Council from 1986 to 1990 and on the KAIA board as the Zone 6 director from 2000 to 2006.
Meininger is a past chair of the KAIA Board and served on the Trusted Choice, Rural and Small Agents Conference Committees. She is a present member of the Education Committee.              She is currently a CISR instructor for the National Alliance and teaches in both Kansas and Oklahoma.
