Lindsey Stieben, a Jetmore High School senior, recently received a $500 scholarship from Aquila. Stieben is one of 25 students in Kansas honored by Aquila in 2008.
Aquila presents awards annually to students whose parents are customers of the energy company. Applicants were required to rank in the top 25 percent of their high school class or receive a score of 21 or greater on their ACT exam. They must plan to attend an accredited college or university to earn a bachelor's or equivalent degree.
Stieben, the daughter of Donald Stieben, plans to attend Kansas State University and is ranked first in a class of 23 students. Her many activities and awards include acting as student council president and as valedictorian of her graduating class.
