Two southwest Kansas residents were killed in a head-on collision Friday morning on U.S. Highway 400, about four miles east of the U.S. 56 junction.
Dodge City resident Timothy E. Conrardy was eastbound on U.S. 400 when he tried to pass a semitruck, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. Conrardy's 2001 GMC truck collided head on with a 2000 Toyota driven by Bucklin resident Angelia J. Dale.
Conrardy, 56, and Dale, 31, were both wearing seat belts when the wreck occurred.
Both victims were pronounced dead at Western Plains Medical Complex.
A death notice for Conrardy appears on page 3 of today's Daily Globe.
