Dodge City's state-owned casino will open its doors in less than a month.
Before that happens, the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission is giving citizens a chance to learn more about the casino and the commission's regulatory activities.
The commission will host a community forum at 7 p.m. today in the Lois Flanagan Room of the Dodge City Public Library, 1001 N. Second Ave. Staffers will provide information about the commission's role at the casino and field questions.
"I think that the interest in holding the public forum is just to make sure that we're attentive and that we come out there and make ourselves available to individuals so if there are any questions, there's an opportunity and a venue for people to come and express those," the commission's executive director, Stephen Martino, said Wednesday.
