What’s Fair for Kansas Kids? Schools for Fair Funding may ask Supreme Court to decide

   USD 443 officials met with about 100 other K-12 representatives in Newton Friday, as the state's school districts inch closer and closer to suing the state.
    While Schools for Fair Funding didn't take a formal vote on the question, the huge increase in SFF membership, prompted largely by recently predicted state budget cuts of up to $460 million, points to a likely decision to pursue litigation as early as next month.
    Although 57 of Kansas' 239 school districts, enrolling more than 147,000 students, have joined SFF, not all have yet been authorized by their boards to commit to the litigation.
