Nearly two years after Kansas Soldiers' Home resident Clifford H. Nelsen suffered a fatal heart attack, his brother is suing the doctor who treated him shortly before his death.
Salina resident Robert J. Nelsen filed a wrongful-death lawsuit last week against Andover physician Martin E. Sellberg, who treated Clifford Nelsen on Nov. 15, 2007. The lawsuit also names as a defendant Nelsen's primary care physician, Dr. Win M. Kyi, of Dodge City.
Robert Nelsen is seeking more than $75,000 in damages from Sellberg and Kyi, according to the lawsuit filed Nov. 12 in Ford County District Court. That amount is a general figure that may change as the case progresses.
Earlier this fall, Robert Nelsen filed a similar lawsuit against the Kansas Commission on Veterans Affairs, the Kansas Soldiers' Home and former registered nurse James F. Massey. That lawsuit is making its way through the local court system.
