A court hearing for a Kiowa County man accused of killing his wife was delayed Thursday until next month.
Mark Ralstin's docket hearing was rescheduled for 1 p.m. Dec. 10 in Kiowa County District Court, said Ryan Sinovic, director of online outreach and communication for Kansas Attorney General Steve Six. A docket hearing is used to schedule a contested preliminary hearing, in which the state tries to convince the court that a defendant should be bound over for trial.
A defense attorney usually cross examines witnesses during a preliminary hearing but does not put its own witnesses on the stand.
Sinovic said he did not know why the hearing was delayed.
