After computer problems at the state's health department, Gov. Mark Parkinson is telling all state agencies to review their computer systems.
Computers at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment malfunctioned for most of August, making it difficult to obtain records such as birth and death certificates. The problem was declared fixed on Monday.
The computer problem stemmed from a disk drive malfunction, which caused the failure of a storage area network.
The Lawrence Journal-World reports that Parkinson says he wants all state agencies to check their systems to ensure that they do not have similar problems.
