DODGE CITY —

Keep Dodge City Beautiful is one of 15 national winners of a $10,000 cash grant from the national Keep American Beautiful program, meant to encourage local solutions to improving the community.
More than 575 local affiliates of Keep America Beautiful were challenged  to present proposals for ambitious projects representing everything from stewardship to education projects. Of the 61 that competed in the 2008 contest, Dodge was one of only 15 to receive it.
Officials said in a statement that the campaign which won them the $10,000 grant will be used to stress the importance of the city working together to combat the graffiti problem, as well as youth and adult educational programming.
