DODGE CITY —

The jury in the Willis Gordon rape case took only an hour and a half Tuesday to reach a verdict.
    Guilty.
Gordon was convicted of rape, aggravated kidnapping, attempted robbery and aggravated battery in the Feb. 2 sexual assault of a female acquaintance and an attack on her former boyfriend, Luther Foote.
He will likely serve prison terms for each count except for attempted robbery, but the actual sentence will depend on his criminal history, said Deputy Ford County Attorney David Belling.
Belling said that he was pleased with the verdict.
"I think the jury made the proper decision based on the evidence," he said. "They did their job, and they made a decision."
Gordon's defense attorney, Steve Cott, declined to comment because the case is not over until his client is sentenced.
The victim said she was confident throughout the trial that the jury would vote to convict.
"I'm very happy with it," she told the Globe. "It went very well. He got what he deserved."
The Globe does not publish the names of victims of sexual assault.
