Free tax assistance offered in Dodge, Liberal and Garden City

DODGE CITY —

The Kansas Department of Revenue and the Kansas Small Business Development Center at Garden City Community College will offer a series of free business tax workshops soon.
    "These sessions will clarify important topics that can be time-consuming and often confusing for many small-business owners and bookkeepers, plus anyone who prepares tax reports," said Pat Veesart, regional SBDC director. The workshops are offered in Liberal, Garden City and Dodge City, and each site will include general and contractor sessions. 
    Sessions in Liberal will be conducted Aug. 19 and Oct. 14 at the Rock Island Depot, with the general session from 1 to 4 p.m. both dates and the contractor session from 6 to  8 p.m.
    The Garden City general workshop will be conducted from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 20 and Oct. 15 at the GCCC Student and Community Services Center, with the contractor session from 6 to 8 p.m. both dates.
    Sessions in Dodge City will be conducted at the Sheridan Activity Center, including a general session from 9 a.m. to noon and contractor session from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 21; plus a general session in Spanish from 9 a.m. to noon and a general session in English from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 16.
