Two southwest Kansas women were injured when their vehicles collided Saturday afternoon east of Spearville.
Dodge City resident Sandra M. Orellana, 20, was westbound on U.S. 50 when she lost control of her vehicle and crossed the center line, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. Syracuse resident Jessica M. Brownlee, 18, was eastbound on U.S. 50 and rear-ended Orellana's vehicle.
Orellana's 2003 Pontiac came to rest in the eastbound lane facing northwest, and Brownlee's 1993 Buick came to rest in the north ditch facing north.
Orellana was wearing a seat belt, but it was not clear whether Brownlee was using one.
Both women were taken to Western Plains Medical Complex for treatment.
