Five legendary Kansas cowboys will be honored for their contributions to the western life as they are inducted into the Kansas Cowboy Hall of Fame in Dodge City.
The Kansas Cowboy Hall of Fame will honor these five men at a ceremony set for 2 p.m. Sept. 20 at Boot Hill Museum.
Each inductee represents a different area of the life of the cowboy: Working cowboy, cowboy historian, cowboy entertainer, rodeo cowboy and rancher/cattleman.
The five inductees and their respective categories are:
• Asher Crowley, Leoti: Working cowboy.
• Don Rowlison, Studley: Cowboy historian.
• Marion “Mac” McLain, Sun City: Cowboy entertainer.
• John McBeth, Andover: Rodeo cowboy.
• Alfred Barby, Meade: Cattleman/rancher.
The Kansas Cowboy Hall of Fame is a project of Boot Hill Museum and was developed to preserve and honor the life of the Kansas cowboy.
