Congressman Jerry Moran announced recently that entries are now being accepted for the 2010 Congressional Arts Competition. All high school students in the First Congressional District are encouraged to participate in this competition. The winning artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year.
“I look forward to the Congressional Arts Competition each year,” Moran said. “The artistic abilities of young Kansans always amaze me, and this is a unique opportunity to showcase their talents to the members of the U.S. House of Representatives and thousands of Americans who visit the U.S. Capitol each year.”
The Dodge City Area Arts Council will host the 2010 competition at the Carnegie Center for the Arts. This year’s competition is divided into seven categories: paintings, drawings, collage, prints, mixed media, computer generated art and photography.
