    WINFIELD — William (Bill) Dean Drennan, 71, died Sunday, May 11, 2008 at William Newton Hospital in Winfield.
    He was born Dec. 14, 1936 in Winfield to Dean and Virginia (Kenreich) Drennan.  He married Nancy Ann Priddle on Aug. 17, 1958 at Wichita.  She survives.
    He was raised in Winfield and graduated from Winfield High School in 1954 and graduated from Southwestern College in 1958.
    He entered the armed services with the Army National Guard and after serving his initial six months of active duty he continued to serve his supper obligation through 1964.
    He joined his father in business at D and D Farm Equipment and contributed to the long time community business with his father, Dane and brothers, Jerry and Robert as they expanded the local John Deere implement business in Winfield through 2004 before retiring.
    He was a lifetime member of Grace United Methodist Church and was active with the Stewardship committee, Trustees and Finance Ministries.  He also supported the Winfield Fair Association and the Walnut Valley Association through service and served as a Rotarian, a member of the Winfield Planning Commission and the Elks.  He enjoyed to travel with his wife and family.
    Survivors include his daughters, Shelley Bailey and husband, Kerry, Winfield, Shari Wampler and husband, Jeff, Winfield and Stephanie Hoberecht, Dodge City; brothers, Jerry Drennan and wife, Peggy and Robert Drennan and wife, Bwana, all of Winfield; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents.
    The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Grace United Methodist Church in Winfield.  A private family internment will take place at Highland Cemetery.
    Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Mile Funeral Service, Winfield with the family to greet friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
    Memorials are suggested in Bill's name for the Winfield Rotary Club and Grace United Methodist Church in care of the Miles Funeral Service, PO Box 720, Winfield, KS 67156.
