Lela "Bernice" Boehme, 89, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009 at Bethel Home in Montezuma.
She was born Oct. 19, 1920, in rural Dodge City to Frederick Luther Sr. and Leah Darline (Ford) Snyder. She married Kenneth O. Boehme on Sept. 9, 1961, at Great Bend. He preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 2008.
Bernice assisted many people in home care in her younger years. She then went to work for Dillons in the meat department. Shortly after her marriage, she became a homemaker and was active in church activities.
Survivors include one daughter, Renea Boehme and companion, Ricardo Corral, of Dodge City; one grandson; one granddaughter; four brothers, Daniel Snyder of Dodge City, Angus Snyder of Dodge City, Noble Snyder of Dodge City, and Ross Snyder of Ford; and one sister, Delores Phillips of Macksville.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
A graveside funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City, with Dr. Gary Winget presiding.
Public visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City.
