Linda L. Knox

    Tyrone, Okla. — Linda L. Knox, 60, Tyrone, Okla., died Monday, May 5, 2008, at Satanta District Hospital, Satanta.
    She was born Dec. 14, 1947, at Liberal to Bruce M. and Emma L. Leaming Cavender. She married Ray Knox on May 2, 1964, at Liberal. He survives.
    She attended school at Ulysses and later attended Liberal Beauty College.  She was a beauty operator at several shops in Liberal for 34 years, retiring in 2007.
    Linda loved to play cards, knit and work in crafts, and she loved family gatherings.
    She was a member of the Tyrone Baptist Church, Tyrone, Okla.
    Other survivors include a daughter, Melissa West and husband, Kevin, Satanta; one brother, Victor Cavender and wife Sue, Odessa, Mo.; two sisters, Alice Schultz, Sedelia, Mo., and Janet Dorsey, Tipton, Mo. two step-grandchildren; and a step-great-granddaughter. 
    She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
    The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Tyrone Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Stone officiating.  Interment will be in the Tyrone Cemetery.
    Visitation took place Thursday and Friday at Miller Mortuary. The family suggests memorials to Cancer Centers of America in
care of Miller Mortuary.
