Edward Dewey Killingsworth, 81, of Marshfield, Mo., died in his sleep Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at his home.
    He was born Dec. 21, 1928, in Grant City,to Edward and Viola Law Killingsworth. Ed married his high school sweetheart, Strausie “Darlyne” Michael, on April 10, 1948, at the King City Baptist Church.
    In 1947, he moved to Dodge City to become an apprentice printer at the Dodge City Daily Globe newspaper. He completed his five-year apprenticeship and became a printer. He sent resumes to newspapers from Hawaii to Europe and everywhere in between, and accepted a position with the European edition of the Stars and Stripes Newspaper in Griesheim, West Germany. He worked there for 37 years until his retirement in 1991.
    He is survived by his wife; his son, Michael Killingsworth and wife, Judy, New Jersey; his daughter, Sondra Hurford and husband, David,  Kansas; his sisters, Kathryne Bowman of Idaho and Annabelle Looney, Kansas, and her husband, Leonard; his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Michael of Marshfield, Sue Michael, of Conway, and Shirley Michael of St. Louis; and five grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his sisters, Christina O’Neall, Claudine Ames and Maxine Gomez; and his brothers Jim, Ben, Pleas, Bill, Kenny and Bobby.
    The funeral service took place Saturday at Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield, with the Rev. Scott Weldon officiating. Burial was in the Marshfield Cemetery.
     The family suggests memorial contributions to Faith Southern Baptist Church, Marshfield.
