Lila Opal Myers, 101, died Monday, Aug. 3, 2009 at Protection Valley Manor, Protection.
She was born June 26, 1908 to Charles and Anna Julia (Harris) Pettigrew in the Willard Community north of Buffalo, Okla. She married Lane Myers on July 24, 1927 at Ashland. He preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 1986.
She was owner and operator of Lane Myers Company, Protection with her husband.
Survivors inlcude two daughters, Joyce E. Veatch and husband Wesley, Whidbey Island, Wash. and Pat A. Sanders and husband, Bill, Protection; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church, Protection with Rev Andrew Evans presiding.
