ASHLAND —

Henry D. Chapman 85, died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Fort Dodge, Halsey Hall.
    He was born April 19, 1923 to Harmon and Robina Lange Chapman at Ashland.  He married Maude Cook Sawyers on June 24, 1957 at Clayton, NM.  She preceded him in death on April 1990.
    He attended schools in Manhattan and Ashland graudating in 1941.  He served during the WW II and during the Korean Conflict as a Marine.
    He was a mechanic for Jesse Waits Home Gas.
    He was a member of the Ashland VFW Masonic Lodge.
    Survivors include his step children and sister, Mary Hannum, Lostant, ILL., and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-greatgrandchildren.
    The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Highland Cemetery, Ashland with Rev. Jim Sutherland presiding with Military graveside rites by the Ashland VFW.
    Friends may call from Noon to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 .m. to 10 a.m. at the Myatt Funeral Home, Ashland.
