KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. —

Thomas Jefferson Conway, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at his home in Klamath Falls, Ore.
    He was born Aug. 5, 1933, in Satanta, to Carl and Bertha Marie Conway. He married Mary Schultz.
    He graduated from Dodge City High School in 1954. He then joined the service, and fought in the Korean War. Upon discharge he went to the Marshall Islands where he was a welder for Pan Am Missile Base, which created the tracking devices for the American missile bases on the Marshall Islands. During his time on the Marshal Islands he developed a love for deep sea diving.
    Upon leaving the Marshall Islands, he resided in Sacramento, Calif., where he bought a beauty shop and was a hairdresser. He eventually sold the shop and moved to Klamath Falls to pursue further education.
    He was passionate about education and earned a bachelor of technology and industrial technology from OIT. After earning his degrees, he went to work for Winema Elevators and was there for 32 years. He loved the excitement and the opportunity to put his technological skills to work.
    He served on the Klamath County School Board Budget Committee. He actively supported and participated in fundraisers for both of his daughters' schools, and coached their basketball teams in grade school.
    His favorite hobbies were being with his family, especially grandchildren, riding his motorcycle and working for Winema Elevators.
    He was a member of Emon Lodge No. 179, Saipan, CNMI, Crater Lake Lodge No. 211 Klamath Falls, and Scottish Rite 32 degree of Honolulu, Hawaii, and many other organizations.
    Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Mary Conway, daughters, Joanie and and husband, Michael Lane and Deanna and husband, Bryan Nielsen; sisters, Arnabelle and Dallas Sparks, sister June Setzkorn, Jefferson and Donna Sparks, Carl Setzkorn, Mike and Debbie Setzkorn, Bertha June and Charlie Bogman, Sue and Tony Oldham, Sandra Elliot and Michael, Susan and TomDeGrandi, Katie and Cody; four grandchildren.
    A Celebration of Life service will at 2 p.m. Thursday in Davenport's Chapel of the Good Shepherd with Pastor David Loser officiating. Concluding graveside services will follow at Mt Laki Cemetery with full military honors provided by Pelican Post #1383, V.F.W. and volunteers from the Marine Corps League.
    Those wishing to do so, send memorials in memory of Thomas Jefferson Conway to the charity of the donor's choice. Davenport's Chapel of the Good Shepherd, directors is in charge of arrangements.
