HUTCHINSON —

   Loretta V. Havercroft Barnes, 91, died Sunday, May 11, 2008, at Hester Health Center at Wesley Towers, Hutchinson.
    She was born March 27, 1917, to Harry R. and Octavia E. (Marine) Havercroft in Ford County. She married Glenn E. Barnes on Aug. 21, 1941, at Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. He preceded her in death July 3, 1988.
    She graduated from Dodge City High School in 1935. She was a sales clerk and bookkeeper at the Duckwalls store in Hutchinson, where she had been a resident since 1984.
    She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, EHU, Jefferson Jane EHU and RSVP. She volunteered at the Delos Smith Center and the Hutchinson Hospital gift shop.
    Survivors include one brother, Harry Havercroft, Eugene, Ore.; and four sisters, Melva Jefferies, Eugene, Kay Hornibrook, Corvallis, Ore., Pauline Rear, Junction City, Ore., and Gwen Carriere, Aurora, Ore.
    She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ivan and Robert Havercroft, and one sister, Inez Weed.
    A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.
    Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
    Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Reno County or the Reno County Food Bank in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
