Andrew A. "Andy" Hoffman, 83, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center, Hutchinson.
    He was born March 20, 1925, to Albert Nicholis and Rose (Kuhl) Hoffman at Minneola. He married Juanita K. Smith on Sept. 18, 1949, at Dalhart, Texas.  She survives.
    He worked for Dillons Stores for 38 years, starting as a meat cutter and retiring as a warehouse manager. Following his retirement, he went back to work for Dillons as a flower and prescription delivery driver.
    He was a member of the Church of the Holy Cross, where he was active in helping with Harvest House, and a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council 612.
    Survivors include his sons Albert, Waterford, Conn., Kenny, Wichita, and Jerry, Hutchinson; a brother, Charlie, Pratt; his sisters Florence Allen, Fort Smith, Ark., Rosetta Sorenson, St. Louis, Mo., and Arlene Turner, Kansas City, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Janice Hoffman; and a brother, Bill.
    His great sense of humor and fair play will be sorely missed by all those who knew him.
    The parish Rosary will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson. The Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Joseph Eckberg presiding. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
    Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
    Memorials are suggested to the Harvest House through the church or Knights of Columbus Council 612. Personal condolences may be left at www.elliottmotuary.com.
