Frances M. Davis, 85, died Saturday, August 28, 2010, at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains, Dodge City.
She was born on December 23, 1924, at Burdick, the daughter of Rev. Carl Anderson and Sene (Nelson) Julius.
Frances graduated from Bethany College, where she received her bachelor of science. She taught school in Ingalls and Montezuma before becoming a homemaker and raising her family.
Frances married Lyle Davis on August 27, 1949, at Lindsborg. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2007.
She was a member of the Cimarron United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the 20th Century Club.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Pamela J. Davis-Vaughn and husband, Darryl, of Painted Post, New York; two sons, Kevin M. Davis and wife, Jeanette, of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Douglas C. Davis and wife, Janell, of Derby; two sisters, Dr. Mildred Julius-Stevens of Garnett and Martha Bergeson of Amherst, Massachusetts; and five grandchildren, Andrew Scott, Emily Anne, Dorothy Miriam, Lindsey Michelle and Kaitlyn Nicole.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Carl Julius; and sister, Ruth Andersson.
Funeral service will be held at the Cimarron United Methodist Church on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at 10:30 A.M., with Rev. Larry Danforth presiding. Burial will follow at the Cimarron Cemetery in Cimarron.
Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Cimarron, on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, from noon to 8:00 P.M.
