     Ilene V. Maier, 83, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at the Ness County Hospital, Ness City.
    She was born on Sept. 15, 1926, on the family farm south of Bazine.
     On Dec. 29, 1945, she married Julius Maier at Bazine. He preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 2005. She was a homemaker.
    She is survived by two sons, Dennis Maier and his wife, Margaret, Bazine, and Michael Maier and his wife, Sandi, Ness City; one daughter, Linnell Maier, Wichita; one brother, Robert Wittman and Cheryl Lagle, Bazine; one sister, Johnette Schaben, Bazine; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. 
    Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. at Saint Luke’s Lutheran Church, Bazine. on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, with Pastor Warren Prochnow presiding. Burial will be in the Bazine Cemetery.
    Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.
    Memorial contributions may be given to the Bazine Cemetery Fund or the Craig Institute for Spinal Cord Injuries. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.fitzgeraldfuneral.com
