FREEDOM, Okla. —

    Virgil Everett Hoffman, 95, died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Pioneer Lodge, Coldwater.
    He was born Feb. 4, 1913, to Benjamin Franklin and Cinderella Sellars Hoffman near Fort Supply, Okla.  He married Betty Jane Bliss on May 28, 1948, at Alva, Okla. She survives.
    He was a lifetime resident of the Coy community in Woods County, Okla., where he attended Coy Country School.
    He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946. 
    He was a rancher and also drove a school bus for the Centerview school system for many years.
    He was a member of the Hatch Vincent American Legion in Freedom, Okla.
    Survivors include one son, Keith Hoffman and wife, Rita, Freedom, Okla.; three daughters, Reva Maddox and husband, Mickey, Alva, Okla., Freida Burgess and husband, Keith, Fransworth, Texas, and Teresa Beatley, Alva, Okla.; two brothers, Richard Hoffman, Wichita ,and Bob Hoffman and wife Lois, Wichita; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William Hoffman; and five sisters, Vera Hoffman, Ruby Hoffman, Florence Bliss, Pearl Wheeler and Laura Mahoney.
    The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church, Coldwater, with the Rev. Sue Talbot presiding. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater, with full military honors.
    Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Hatfield Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater.
