SUBLETTE —

     Estel Fern Leonard, 97, died Sunday, May 11, 2008, at the Satanta Long Term Care Unit, Satanta.
    She was born March 18, 1911, to Lee and Alice Gertrude (King) Leonard in Cullison.
    She worked in a factory in Wichita in 1943 and was a sales clerk in a ladies store in Sublette for many years. She had been a resident of the Satanta Long Term Care Unit since Dec. 19, 2000.
    She was a member of the Sosuntee Club in Sublette, serving as president from 1972 to 1973. She was also a member of the Christian Church in Sublette.
    Her hobbies were cooking, knitting afghans, crocheting, needlework and embroidery work. She had mastered the art of ceramics and played the piano.
    Survivors include her nephews and nieces.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, LaVern Charles Leonard and Floyd W. Leonard Sr.; and two sisters, Vienna Ellen "Vina" Swafford and Velma Reta Reece.
    A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Green Lawn Cemetery, Pratt, with the Rev. David Erwin presiding.
    Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. today and Tuesday at the Haskell County Funeral Home, Sublette.
