WINFIELD —

    Minnie Workman Wood, 100, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008 at Cumbernauld Village, Winfield.
    She was born July 3, 1908 to William Allen and Luvena Fern Bowman Workman at Winfield.  She married Ernest Wood on Oct. 29, 1927 in Winfield.  He preceded her in death on April 5, 1982. The couple made their home north of Winfield before moving to Burden in the early 1940s.
    She was raised and received her education in rural Winfield.  She attended the Tisdale United Methodist Church.  Her hobbies included embroidery, quilting, flowers and gardening.
    Survivors include her son, Jay Wood and wife, Nellie, Tumwater, Wash.; daughter, Sharon Anglemyer and husband, Burl, Dodge City; son in law, Delbert Graham, Winfield; grandchildren, Jim Young, Deanna McKinney, Debra Bridges, Ronald Wood, Chad Angelmyer, Jan Kaufman and Tammy Anglemyer and 24 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, daughters, Luvena Yound and Mary Graham, brothers, Bill, Carl and Ralph, sisters, Edna, Grace, Lucille, Nellie and Nina.
    A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Tisdale United Methodist Church.  A viewing will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Miles Funeral Home, Winfield with the family to greet friends during that time.
    A memorial has been established in Minnie's name for the Tisdale United Methodist Church in care of the Miles Funeral Home, Winfield.  Online condolences may be made at www.
