Royce Snook was born Feb. 15, 1931, in Ford to Roy and Nellie Snook, graduating from Ford High School in 1948. He went on to serve in the Air Force and upon completion of his tour of duty, Royce attended Kansas State University, graduating with a Doctorate of Veterinary Science.
He married Mardelle Sprunger-Walkemeyer, their family consisting of her two children and a son, Justin. Royce practiced in Ulysses and later became a veterinarian for the USDA out of Redmond, Ore. Royce went home to Jesus on May 13, 2008, in Tacoma, Wash., after suffering an aortic aneurysm.
Royce is survived by his wife, Mardelle, Redmond, Ore.; children, Brenda and husband, Mark Williams, Long Beach, Calif., Justin and wife, Tiffany Snook, Puyallup, Wash., and Cynthia Knitig; grandchildren Luke Williams, Blake Williams and Lindsey Walkemeyer; great-grandson, Isaac Gabin-Williams; brother, Duane Snook and sister, Mona Morris, both of Johnson City.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Prairie Church of God, Satanta. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to LIME, 2315 Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90803.
