    COLLEGE STATION, Texas— Rebecca Lavon White Arrington, 98, of College Station passed away on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009. Viewing and visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Hillier Funeral Home. Services are set for 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at College Hill Church of Christ, located at 7447 College Circle N. in North Richland Hills, Texas. Interment will follow at Smithfield Cemetery in Fort Worth.
    Lavon was born on May 15, 1911, in Keller, Texas, to Alexander Frank and Florence Ellen Prather White. She married David Alton Arrington on Dec. 20, 1932. They had a long and interesting life together, and lived in many locations during their marriage, including Houston, Brattleboro, Vt., Falfurrias, Texas, and Cardiff, Wales.
    She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ and at the time of her death, she was a member of A&M Church of Christ. Lavon loved to garden and oil painting.
    She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989.
    Survivors include her three daughters and sons-in-law, Janis and Pence Dacus of College Station, Linda and Kirk Castleman of Dodge City, Kan., and Diane and Eugene Pine of Houston; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
    Memorials may be made to Christ's Haven for Children, P.O. Box 467, Keller, TX 76244.
